bits&pieces of August | part III | summer mornings

I wanted to share one only post about mornings in this house, because I just love to wake up there and pick up the camera or the phone and take some pictures of the glorious light that comes in at that time... 

Is the one thing I miss at home, waking up with the heat leaning next to you, or all over your skin, is maybe one of the bigger pleasures I love... I must sleep with opened windows so the sun can reach my room and come inside...

so here there are some of these moments...

* we sleep with the mattress on the floor, cause the bed's structure is too old and we just can't sleep on top of it, so we put our bed under the window on the ground, and I must say, I love it!

saturday warmth

feels like summer is finally arriving...

peaches, pancakes and raspberry marmalade...

Love peaches... they remind me so much when I was a child... we used to carry our baskets and go down the lane into the field where the peach-trees where... my grandma, my mum and I. Their smell was so strong, there were so many of them, we had to eat tones of them...

now I can't help spending the time smelling them and remembering these bits of childhood, summer, and they taste so delicious...like having a piece of small magic in my hands.

mountain trip | part II

wood, birds, morning, clouds, ... love waking up in here.

I can picture scenes from when I was little so well... My grandfather, sitting in the living room, listening to some music while he reads the newspaper... my grandmother, in the kitchen, humming self made songs, while she makes coffee, and french toast... people coming down from the rooms to meet at this kitchen table...

now, everything is so quiet, but, I can still picture these memories so well...

Rainy days in Spring

so much time spending it at home, while the rain pours down...

This week was about a little kid I've seen grow up since he was 1 year old. Yesterday, he was turning 9! He's such a young man now... it was lovely to make him a little surprise with this magical book!

Such a rainny day... has been those type of weeks... you could oversleep a couple of days of... I really got so wet... felt the cold rain all over and inside me...
